Garden Club

The Forest Hills Garden Club was organized in 1998 by a group of women with a shared interest in gardening. The organization is informal and does not elect officers.  But the following members assist in planning meetings and programs and may be contacted regarding membership.

Barbara J Michaels - fhagardenclub@aol.com Judi Boyles - ibjudib@netscape.net
Judy Whalen - jwreps@earthlink.net Lottie Minnick - lottiek@sbcglobal.net

MEMBERSHIP AND DUES
We collect dues of $35.00 each year in September.   Our membership is open to anyone who enjoys gardening. We choose a yard of the month several times a year to honor the efforts of our neighbors to keep our community beautiful.

GARDEN CLUB MEETINGS
We meet on the second Thursday of the month in homes in the neighborhood.  Evening meetings are from 7 - 9 and day meetings are from 10:00 - 12:00.  Topics are varied and have included discussions on shade gardening, tree health, herbs, yoga for gardeners, landscaping, caring for orchids, etc. We also plan field trips that pertain to gardening.

YARD OF THE MONTH
The Yard of the Month is a way of recognizing neighbors that go above and beyond in the landscaping and gardening.  A yard is selected each month based on:

Landscape renovation - major or minor

  General appearance

Newly planted trees  as it is important
to keep the forest in Forest Hills.

  Seasonal color

Nominations can be made to any of the members of the Garden Club for consideration of Yard of the Month.
